CONSCIENTIZATION PROGRAMME REPORT : ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF SOCIAL MEDIA

 As part of the B.Ed. curriculum during my first-phase teaching practice, I conducted a conscientization program in Class 8A on the topic "Advantages and Disadvantages of Social Media." The session aimed to make students aware of the impact of social media on their daily lives, both positively and negatively. To effectively convey the topic, I used a PowerPoint presentation that illustrated key points, such as the benefits of staying connected, accessing information, and learning opportunities through social media. At the same time, I highlighted the potential drawbacks, such as cyberbullying, time wastage, and privacy concerns. The use of visuals and clear explanations helped simplify the concepts and engage students more effectively.

The session was highly interactive, with students encouraged to share their views and experiences related to social media. I facilitated discussions where they could express both positive and negative aspects of their social media use. This allowed students to critically analyze the topic and form balanced opinions. The interactive nature of the session also kept them engaged, and they were eager to contribute their ideas. The program proved to be an enriching experience, as students gained a deeper understanding of the impact of social media, empowering them to make informed decisions about their online behavior.

The unit includes four chapters: "To Me, Fair Friend, You Never Can Be Old," A Time to Walk, The Gift of the Magi, and The Devoted Friend. Each chapter explores different aspects of friendship and love, highlighting the deep emotional bonds, sacrifices, and the timeless nature of true friendship and also true love. Our journey to Parambikulam began on December 1st, marking the start of an unforgettable nature camp. The trip was designed to provide an escape from daily life and immerse us in nature's tranquility.
